BLACKPINK Jennie Discussed by K-Netz Amid Ahyeon's Departure from BABYMONSTER

On November 15, an online post titled, "It feels like YG won't debut another rookie (idol) like Jennie" was flocked by netizens.

The original author uploaded a gorgeous photo of Jennie, which was followed by the comments of netizens, who made the post an appreciation thread for the idol. In the thread, netters laid out numerous pictures of Jennie in her trainee days and even complimented her charisma.

  •  "Even during her trainee days, Jennie's force was really it. You can see how impressive her aura was just from viewing their documentary."

They also expressed that YG Entertainment had so much trust in Jennie, to the point of revealing her as the first member of BLACKPINK.

  •  "Jennie was the first member of BLACKPINK to be revealed in the open. That just shows how confident the agency was with her."

Fans then commented that Jennie is a "one-of-a-kind" in the K-pop industry and enumerated her commendable characteristics as well.

  •  "Jennie is a one-of-a-kind star and seriously, she has her own unique color. She is not your stereotypical beauty, but to my eyes, she's the prettiest and the most charming female celebrity in Korea."
  •  "Of course, there won't be (another rookie idol like her)."
  •  "The moment I saw her, I thought how perfect she was like a Sims character."

Meanwhile, in another community, netizens claimed that Ahyeon was the closest member to being the "next Jennie" in K-pop.

They also stated how Ahyeon's absence from BABYMONSTER would affect the group's presence.

  •  "Ahyeon was really close, though."
  •  "It would probably have been Ahyeon tbh. Her intro song cover has 32 million views."
  •  "LMAO BABYMONSTER isn't even near touching rookie BLACKPINK, their lineup is so weak and they're absolute dust without Ahyeon."

On February 27, YG Entertainment posted a new introduction video of Ahyeon, who garnered attention for her all-rounder assets. However, she was especially complimented by her magnetic presence, which led to her potential to be BABYMONSTER's overall center.

In the video, even choreographer LEEJUNG commented on Ahyeon's possible role as center.

"Ahyeon understands the control that I'm saying, and that's why it's considered as the best balance when she's taking the center. I think she's the best one for the center role."

However, as everyone patiently waited for YG Entertainment to debut the group, numerous speculations of Ahyeon leaving the group transpired along the way.

From seeing the members attend BLACKPINK's concert finale without Ahyeon, to her lack of presence in social media, the anxiety-inducing wait sparked numerous threads about Ahyeon's true status in BABYMONSTER.

On November 15, YG Entertainment confirmed that Ahyeon would be leaving BABYMONSTER due to health reasons.
