5 K-pop Idols Who Went Through Hiatus in November 2023: RIIZE Seunghan, DreamNote Boni, More

The month of November may be an exciting time for K-pop, but several idols in the music industry experienced a rough break that led them to go under a temporary halt in their activities.

Here are 5 K-pop idols who went through indefinite hiatus in November 2023

1. RIIZE Seunghan

Seunghan went through an indefinite hiatus on November 22. The temporary halt was officially announced by SM Entertainment, which also declared legal action against malicious content regarding the idol.

For additional information, Seunghan trended due to a series of controversies of allegedly smoking and his past relationship during his pre-debut days. His hiatus led RIIZE to be active as a six-membered group.

SM Entertainment also shared that the agency has monitored and will proceed to take legal action against all illegal activities of cyberbullying, blackmail, and defamation.

2. DreamNote Boni

On November 21, DreamNote's agency iMe Entertainment Korea disclosed that Boni received an injury from a fall during a dance practice. As a result, Boni received medical attention at a hospital, where she was diagnosed with a coccyx fracture.

To focus on her recovery, it was decided that Boni would take a temporary break and minimize her movements to prevent further injuries. The agency also assured fans that more updates regarding her return will be imparted soon.

3. KINGDOM Louis

On November 20, GF Entertainment declared that Louis of KINGDOM would be temporarily stopping his schedules and activities. The reason for this break was due to a deterioration of the idol's health status.

With his hiatus, this led Louis to miss out on KINGDOM's fan signing event. It also led the group to continue their promotions with six members. Moreover, the company assured fans that Louis will receive all the support to return to the K-pop scene in good health.

4. ITZY Lia

Before November started, ITZY's main vocalist Lia was already undergoing her indefinite hiatus due to health reasons, which started on September 18. However, on November 17, JYP Entertainment revealed that Lia would be continuing her hiatus.

Sources state that Lia was also diagnosed with anxiety disorder after experiencing its symptoms.

To focus on her treatment, it was concluded after a discussion with the members that Lia would be absent during ITZY's upcoming album production in January 2024, alongside their world tour. To make up for her indefinite hiatus, Lia's solo track "Blossom" was uploaded for saddened fans.

On the same day, Lia followed up with a heartwarming handwritten letter to address the situation and assure fans of her return.

5. THE BOYZ Ju Haknyeon

Ju Haknyeon of THE BOYZ also went through a temporary break for health reasons. According to the statement by IST Entertainment on November 16, the idol suffered from worsening back pain and was diagnosed with disc stenosis.

Medical professionals advised Ju Haknyeon to halt his activities, including the group's comeback and December encore concerts.

Wishing all idols the speediest of recoveries!
