On November 28, the Day 1 for the 2023 MAMA Awards was finally held, inviting numerous K-pop artists, celebrities, and fans to watch the event. The artists receiving their well-earned awards may be the main highlight of the show, but viewers were also stunned by the thrilling stages.

Fans were astonished by the first batch of performances, with Lee Youngji, LE SSERAFIM Eunchae, &TEAM, Just B, and many others who hyped the event's introduction.

During the final stage of the first session, Kep1er performed a six-minute spectacle with "Grand Prix."

 

The project girl group gave their all and had fans applauding their special stage.

However, at the end of their performance, the girls left an eyebrow-raising but somber note on one of the boards saying, "MISSION COMPLETE."

Kep1er was formed under the survival show "Girls Planet 999" and debuted on January 3, 2022, with their first-ever title track "WA DA DA." Like any other project group in K-pop, Kep1er also had a limited contract in their grasp and is expected to disband in 2024.

Kep1er's 2023 MAMA Awards performance also marked the group's final MAMA stage, and with "MISSION COMPLETE" being declared after their segment, Kep1ians were left with a heartbreaking note, leading them to express their sadness on social media.

Earlier on September 22, it was disclosed that Kep1er's contract may be extended. WAKEONE Entertainment shared that while no final agreement was reached, discussions regarding the group's future would still continue.

In other news, Kep1er won the trophy for Favorite Asian Female Group at the 2023 MAMA Awards, proving their impact on the K-pop community.

The group is comprised of Yujin, Xiaoting, Mashiro, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, Youngeun, and Yeseo.
