ASTRO Cha Eun Woo's fanclub recruitment is receiving mixed reactions for THIS reason.

Here's what people are saying.

ASTRO Cha Eunwoo's Solo Fanclub Recruitment Gains Mixed Reactions from K-Netz

On December 1, a Korean news outlet reported that Fantagio uploaded a notice on ASTRO's official fan café declaring Cha Eun Woo's solo fanclub recruitment.

According to sources, the recruitment would begin on December 5 and end in the 19th. It also shared that Eunwoo's personal fanclub news confused AROHAs, since it announced in a time where ASTRO's future as a group remained unclear.

They also demanded an explanation for ASTRO's upcoming group activities. The update also stirred confusion due to the usage of AROHAs' fandom name.

"Fans who suffered through the group's reorganization process are expected to be surprised by the abrupt news of ASTRO recruiting a fanclub for a single member, without any explanation of their future activities."

In response to this, it was disclosed that Fantagio is "checking into the matter."

The notice led to an online discussion, where AROHAs expressed their mixed feelings on the announcement. They called out Fantagio for posting the statement on ASTRO's fan café instead of the agency's official account. Read their comments below:

  • "Why are you recruiting solo stans? If you're going to recruit, you should do it separately."
  • "Why is it done through the group's fan café? Doesn't the company have its own official account?"
  • "There's an issue with this company."
  • "Don't post this on ASTRO's fan café."

Some fans countered that the announcement was a good move on Fantagio's part in order to keep ASTRO's name under the K-pop radar.

  • "They didn't make a new (fandom) name but went along with 'AROHA' too. I think no one would care if they named it AROHA-XYZ name and so on. SuJu did this and that's the trend now."
  • "As someone who experienced a group's disbandment, I'm jealous of them and I think this is a good way for your group to last long."

International fans also expressed their opinions on Cha Eun Woo's fanclub recruitment. They conveyed that this move was only inevitable since Cha Eun Woo was ASTRO's most popular member with the greatest number of solo projects.

  • "I can see why AROHAs are confused and mad. Fantagio has been very cryptic about ASTRO's future as a group, so making a separate fanclub for one member makes you think their future is non-existent."
  • "Eunwoo is the most popular member with the most solo projects, so I understand why he's got a fanclub."
  • "It's sad, but it makes sense. He's doing a lot of acting gigs and it's probably too soon for the group to reconvene."
