With December being the last month for 2023, many K-pop acts are currently making the most out of their schedules. The Korean Business Research Institute has officially announced its newest brand reputation rankings for K-pop boy groups.
According to the institute, the results were derived from numerous aspects such as the participation of consumers, coverage with the media, and overall exposure that can lead to buzz. The chart was covered from November 9 to December 9.
Here are the top five K-pop boy groups who trended the most in December 2023!
1. BTS
On the No. 1 spot, BTS claimed the place after seeing a brand reputation index of 6,947,409. The group is undoubtedly the biggest group in K-pop, but fans are always left in awe of their ability to exceed expectations in popularity and impact in the music industry.
This 2023, the group has only released a special track for their 8th debut anniversary titled, "Take Two." Despite not having an official group comeback and promotions due to military service, the members made it worthwhile with their solo endeavors before enlisting.
2. SEVENTEEN
SEVENTEEN managed to secure No. 2 for December after receiving a brand reputation index of 5,055,902. Throughout 2023, the group has gained attention from the K-pop community for their activities, concerts, content, and social media updates.
They also made headlines for their attendance on special occasions such as year-end award shows.
3. Stray Kids
Stray Kids successfully filled in No. 3, where they received a brand reputation index of 2,047,834. The year 2023 was a great one for Stray Kids since the group achieved multiple feats with their music releases.
Fans raved about their appearances in year-end events such as the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, 2023 MAMA Awards, Melon Music Awards 2023, and the Asia Artist Awards 2023.
4. ZEROBASEONE
For the month of December, project boy group ZEROBASEONE made it on the list after garnering a brand reputation index of 2,545,809.
The group is also one of the most successful acts in K-pop. ZEROBASEONE has also made headlines for starting the fifth generation of K-pop.
5. SHINee
Lastly, SHINee completed the top five with a brand reputation index of 2,047,834.
