Jessica Jung left Girls' Generation in 2014, but there are still speculations she was actually kicked out of the group, not by the company, but by the members themselves. In her recent interview, her remark drew huge attention.

Earlier on December 20, former SNSD Jessica Jung appeared on The Daily Ketchup podcast as a guest.

On this day, the star introduced her latest mini-album, "BEEP BEEP" and announced her plans as a soloist actively promoting in China.

During the interview, the hosts mentioned the time she was still a member of one of the most legendary girl groups in K-pop, Girls Generation.

As a response, Jessica recalled her bittersweet experience as a former "Nation's Girl Group" member.

In the video, Jessica particularly expressed her true feelings about her departure from the group, saying:

"You know, I try to put the past behind me, and I always try to look at the brighter things, the brighter side. Of course, that time was one of the darkest times of my life, it's the darkest period of my life."

Fortunately, at the time, the female idol had her family, friends as well and fans who had her back, and for whom she was thankful for not leaving her alone. Regardless of the experience, it became a good transitioning period for her to grow on her own.

Just then, Jessica caught the massive attention of K-pop enthusiasts and SONEs after her remark that implied how decisions were made differently between being a soloist and being a group member.

As a soloist, she said:

"You get to choose everything."

But as a group, Jessica revealed:

"But you know, if you're in a group, the majority wins. Like, if you don't wanna have black tea, you need to have black tea, if five people want five tea. So it's like that. I'm just giving an example.

But this goes for every single thing, from the little things to the big decisions as well. So, you know, you need to learn how to deal and cope with that and be okay with being in that kind of system, which I was fine (before)."

Following her remark, more internet users and fans speculate that she didn't really leave the group to pursue her fashion brand and business, but because the members unanimously voted her out of the group.

At the time, Jessica was consistent in denying she decided to leave but K-netizens were initially more on SNSD and SM's side.

Some people claimed she should leave because she's been affecting the group's practice and performance due to her busy schedule working with BLANC & ECLARE.

But the opinions became more divided when Jessica released her debut book, "Shine" and "Bright," which is speculated to be based on her own experience as a Korean-American idol.

In the book, Rachel is ostracized and kicked out by her members of the team. As a result, there was a lot of speculation among fans that Jessica has been subtly revealing the truth about the unfortunate incident.
