During the broadcast, Sooyoung recalled her time as a Japanese idol in 2002. At the time, she won first place at SM Entertainment's Korea-Japan Ultra Idol Duo Audition, which led to her debut in Route 0, along with Marina Takahashi.

But after the duo ended their activities in 2003, Sooyoung initially decided to become an actress instead and focused on acting classes. Just then, she heard about SM launching a large girl group after Super Junior, which she deemed as her last opportunity.

"Before debuting in Girls' Generation, I debuted in Japan first when I was 12 years old. I came back to Korea after working in Japan, but since the trainee period was long, I changed my profile to actress and took a lot of acting classes, skipping singing and dancing.

I auditioned a lot. I thought I could debut as an actor like Lee Yeon Hee. I thought it might be possible to make a living as an actress.

But after Super Junior oppas debuted, there was a rumor that such a large group would be formed for women. I thought if I missed this opportunity, I wouldn't be able to debut."

As the conversation went on, she revealed one of the factors she was selected as an SNSD member.

"At the time, a member who could speak Japanese was needed for the group. Since I learned Japanese, it was inevitable and I became a member. I was lonely when I was active in Japan, but now that I think about it, it was so good."

In the same broadcast, the celebrity chose the song as her favorite among SNSD's discography.

"I think I'm lucky to have a debut song with a good message. Some songs felt like going against society. But I think if I sang that song again, it would have been different. It's a masterpiece no matter when I listen to it."

Since then, they produced more hits and earned the honorific title, "Nation's Girl Group." Regarding this, Sooyoung humbly replied:

"When we were active, there wasn't much media, only TV. We appeared on news and entertainment shows, so I think we were called the 'Nation's Girl Group.' As time went by, adults recognized us too, so I think it's good."
