2024 MAMA Awards to Include 'Worldwide KCONers' Choice' in Year-End Ceremony

On February 2023, the 2024 MAMA Awards has added the "Worldwide KCONers' Choice" to one of its categories.

Regarding the candidates, the results will be derived from numerous K-pop artists attending any KCON events around the globe this 2024. The music festival will kickstart in Hong Kong, which will be trailed by Japan, United States, Saudi Arabia, and Europe.

According to its post, fans all over the world will be given the chance to vote at KCON venues, along with the platform Mnet Plus. The selection criteria also revealed that the on-site voting will make up 70 percent, while the remaining 30 percent will come from the post-event voting.

KCON is one of the most highly anticipated events in K-pop, as numerous fandoms will also get to see their favorite artists perform on live stage. The festival was initially held only in the United States, however, it eventually expanded to countries such as Japan, Mexico, and more.

The music event is also the perfect place where fans can enjoy Korean pop culture and indulge in other attractions in the venue.

On the other hand, the MAMA Awards (previously known as Mnet Asia Music Awards) is a prestigious award-giving body in South Korea. The year-end ceremony is also held annually, which consistently draws attention from the K-pop community due to idols winning their trophies and performing their energetic stages.

With this new category being added to MAMA, fans are expected to anticipate the upcoming KCON performances and vote which artists performed the best.
