On February 29, 2024, the latest episode of Mnet's music show "M Countdown" aired.

For this airing, K-pop fans were treated to performances by LE SSERAFIM, TWICE, NCT's Taeyong, NCT's Ten, MAMAMOO's Moonbyul. TRI.BE, CRAVITY, A.C.E, The Wind, N.SSign, AIMER, NOMAD, and INI.

The candidates for first place this time were LE SSERAFIM for "EASY" and TWICE for "ONE SPARK." LE SSERAFIM ultimately won first place with a total of 9,428 votes.

LE SSERAFIM Earns Backlash For 'EASY' Encore Stage on 'M Countdown'

Following their music show win, footage of their encore stage was posted online. Soon, internet users rushed to social media platforms to roast the girls' live vocal skills.

Specifically, Sakura received the most flak for her live vocals. People claimed that during the encore stage, Sakura looked scared, as if she did not want to perform the encore. Her voice was noticeably shaky as she sang, which led people to accuse Sakura of being unable to sing live.

Others noted that Sakura has been an idol for over 12 years, meaning she should have improved her vocal skills by now. However, people claim she has not improved at all since her IZ*ONE days.

However, all the members except Huh Yunjin received criticism. It was noted that the girls were not dancing during their encore stage, but still sounded unstable and shaky.

FEARNOTS defended the girl group, however. They pointed out how the girls appeared noticeably more reserved and nervous for this encore stage, most likely because they are aware of the hate they will receive regardless of whether they do well or not.

Others noted that their vocals improved once they adjusted to the stage, and performed the second half of "EASY" well.

FEARNOTs also expressed concern for Sakura, with many agreeing that she looked distressed.
