aespa member Karina wants to dip her toes into the acting scene!

Since aespa's debut in 2020, the girls have been actively pursuing schedules as idols. It's only during the latter part of last year and this year that the members are expanding their horizons and trying out new things, such as brand ambassadorship and commercial filming.

aespa Karina Expresses Dream to Make Acting Debut

On April 18, 2024, Karina filled in as a special DJ for MBC FM4U's "Lee Seok Hoon's Brunch Cafe." The main DJ, Lee Seok Hoon, is currently on vacation.

During the start of the show, Karina expressed her nervousness to fill in the DJ role, saying, "Although I just moved one seat over from the guest's spot to DJ Seok's spot, why do I feel so unfamiliar and nervous?"

However, she expressed her desire to fulfill her new role well, saying, "Just like how it takes time to get used to new shoes, once the unfamiliar moments pass, I think I can develop a 'perfect match' relationship with all of you."

When asked if she has any intention to try acting, Karina confessed she does want to try it, saying, "If given the opportunity, I think I can enjoy it."

The idol then dug deeper into what kind of genres she would like to try out, saying, "I want to try something mixed with comedy. Since I've attended an action school a lot, I think action would be fun too. I want to try romantic comedy, fantasy, and action."

On April 11, 2024, Karina was announced as the brand ambassador for the popular Korean vitamin C drink, Vita 500 Zero.

On April 8, 2024, it was announced Karina would appear on the KBS 2TV music variety show "SynchroYou." She will appear on the show alongside Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Juck, Lee Young Jin, BTOB's Yook Sung Jae, and SEVENTEEN's Hoshi. The pilot episodes will be released on May 10 and 18.

In January 2024, Karina was selected as the new ambassador for Converse Korea.
