Ryeowook uploaded a screenshot, showing a Tweet recalling his past clapback to a fan who gave him unsolicited advice to lose weight. According to the post, the internet user was an ELF for 10 years.
Netizens were impressed with how Ryeowook handled the situation with confidence.

"I wish I could explain it in deep thought, but there are people who really think I don't value my fans. How can anyone think 'you,' a fan, when I said (it's not the money I earned because of you, it's the money I worked hard for)?
People swear at me by saying 'He thinks the money he earned was all thanks to himself when it's because of his fans' and 'I pity his fans, I'd be hurt if I were them.'
Do you think you're allowed to do anything you want and leave hate comments just because you've spent money on me? Isn't this a power trip? Why can't I give it back when I'm hurt?
Are celebrities not human beings? Do you think I should just endure all the hurt? I guess there will only be AI celebrities left in the future.
I don't consider haters who spend money on me and leave hate comments to hurt me as 'fans.' I'm not earning money because of you, but I have my real fans who get angry, stand by me, and cheer me on just like the bad people who are cursing me right now.
