Psy Wins SESAC Latina Music Award For 'Gangnam Style'

A Korean rapper wins a Latina music award? Really? Yes, really.

At the June 19 SESAC Latina Music Awards in Los Angeles, the namesake performing rights organization honored some of the most innovative Spanish-language songwriters and musicians... and Psy.

The Korean rapper and international phenomenon was honored with the first ever SESAC Latina YouTube Performance Award for his record-smashing "Gangnam Style" music video.

While he was not able to attend the award ceremony to accept the honor in person, he did send along a video message thanking SESAC for the distinction.

"Now I'm going to show you passion, 'Latin Style,'" he said in the acceptance video.

Psy has recently wrapped-up promotions of his follow-up single "Gentleman" and will soon get started on his September album which is said to include collaborations with some other very famous artists from around the world.

"You're going to see a great album," said Psy. We are still wondering if he plans to really include some Latin-flavor.
