Block B Ban Sparks Protest

Popularity is Growing

The move yesterday by KBS to ban two songs by Block B comes as a surprise to the group, and reasons given by KBS for the ban were related to speculation and included the use of a word that can be interpreted as profanity.

Fans have also spoken out against the allegations stating, “It is not right for a song to be judged vulgar only due to the title.”
Yesterday the band began gathering signatures to petition KBS for a review of the ban. KBS has not commented on the signature gathering efforts, and meanwhile, the band is growing in popularity

Block B will be holding a showcase and a fan meeting with their BBCs, just one day before the release of their 3rd mini album, ‘Welcome to the Block’. The showcase went on sale yesterday with 2000 tickets and sold out in less than a minute.

The showcase reported that it will be attended by 100 reporters from Taiwan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and other parts of Asia. Since Block B has actively promoted in various parts of Asia in 2011, the effect they’ve had overseas will be clear and the response of the KBS will be closely watched.

Additionally, 100 fans from Block B’s Japanese fan club scheduled a visit to Korea just for the showcase, so Brand New Stardom prepared seats for them as well.

Block B is currently carrying out their activities in Thailand, and will return to Korea for the release of their album on February 2nd.
