Kim Bum Soo Discusses His Recent Eyelid Surgery On His Radio Show

Although he was just released from the hospital in early July after receiving reparative surgery for damage to his his knee ligaments, South Korean singer Kim Bum Soo went under the knife again recently, this time to correct a plastic surgery mishap.

Kim discussed the operation on his Korean Broadcasting System radio show "Kim Bum Soo's Gayo Plaza" on Wednesday.

"I got corrective double eyelid surgery to repair my [droopy eyelids]," the singer said. "There are still two weeks left until the swelling goes away, but I [already] unveiled my eyes."

The star said his first eye job came after his record label pressured him into getting plastic surgery.

"In the early days of my debut, I got double eyelid surgery because of my agency CEO's suggestion," Kim said.

He admits he almost got more work done.

Back in June, Kim Bum Soo was forced to cancel a scheduled appearance on the Seoul Broadcasting System program "Barefoot Friends," after injuring his leg on a trampoline, according to website Soompi.

The 34-year-old singer was preparing to shoot a scene filming a scene for the television reality show "Barefoot Friends."

Kim was released from the hospital on July 2.

"For now, Kim Bum Soo is resting and concentrating on getting better," said a representative for the singer.

Kim was reportedly determined to continue filming after sustaining the injury.

"Because this is Kim Bum Soo's first variety show, he had a lot of determination," said a spokesperson for the actor's management company.

"This incident was also partly caused by his ambition to be a helpful part of the program. Kim Bum Soo kept asking if he could continue filming following his injury, showing his persistence."

Allkpop reader Aardbei sees Kim's injury as part of a trend.

"Variety shows in Korea are quite dangerous," Aardbei wrote. "[First] Kim Soo Ro on 'Real Men,' now him!"

Actor Kim Soo Ro injured his shoulder back in May while shooting a training sequence for the South Korean television program "Real Men."

"Even though he's injured, he's back on set to film," the show's producers said of Kim Soo Ro shortly following the injury. "He's still filming."
