Record Label Execs Fume Over Kara's Appearance On 'Radio Star': 'We Shouldn't Show That Kind Of Image During Broadcasts'

Executives from DSP Media, the record label or five-member K-pop girl group Kara, are reportedly furious over an interview for the South Korean talk show "Radio Star" that left two members of the group in tears.

In the now infamous interview, Kara's Goo Hara is seen throwing her water bottle and welling up with tears when hosts Yoon Jong Shin and Kim Kuk Jin brought up her relationship Yong Junhyung of the boy band BEAST.

According to a DSP Media statement to the website allkpop, although the record label exec's were angered by the Kara singer's behavior, they claimed it was the Hara that felt the worst for overshadowing her band's music with her personal drama.

"Kara made a comeback but it seemed like only [Hara's] dating rumors received attention so [Hara] was noticeably sad," the statement read.

"She was embarrassed by the talk about her dating rumors. We shouldn't show that kind of image during broadcasts and it wasn't a good way of behaving. Hara also told us that she sincerely apologized afterwards."

Kara member Kang Jiyoung also broke down in tears after becoming embarrassed after the hosts asked her to make "aegyo" or "cute" facial expressions.

Han Seungyeon, who tried to defend Hara when she started weeping, took to Twitter on Friday to apologize for her and her bandmates' behavior in the television interview.

"After worrying about how to express this heavy heart all day, I am posting something now." Seungyeon wrote.

"First off, we want to apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable with us as guests on 'Radio Star.' We are reflecting on the fact that we showed unprofessional behavior due to our personal issues. We're very sorry and thankful to the 'Radio Star' hosts and Park Jin Young [JYP] who helped us during and after the broadcast despite our shortcomings."

"We will do our best to show a brighter and hardworking Seungyeon, Hara, and Jiyoung," she added.

Known for his aggressive interview style, Yoon defended the members of Kara in his own tweet.

"I believe that their tears were the most honest answers of all," the "Radio Star" host tweeted.

"As always, we were vicious...and if anyone deserves to be cursed at, it would be us, who were being mischievous. Not everyone can accept the questions with wit and laughter. They must have gone through a lot of hardships. It's my fault, since I was the most eager one. I'm sorry."
