At last, the rumors has been cleared out and both Minzy and her agency, YG Entertainment revealed the true story behind her cosmetic surgery for her nose.

According to YG Entertainment , "Minzy had been suffering from rhinitis for a long time. During the surgery for her rhinitis, she also received a surgery to straighten her nose for a complete recovery." The representative also revealed that also the CEO of YGE, Yang Hyun Suk, was not against about the said surgery that Minzy undergone.

Minzy also speak on her part about the sudden change seen by the public and the rumors that had been bugging the internet, She shared on Osen news, "There's a lot of talk about my change in appearance these days. I'm not the type of person who can hide things, so I wanted to come out and tell everyone right away. I had been suffering from rhinitis for a long time, so I always had a hard time while singing and dancing. When I went to the hospital, they told me that because my nose was crooked, I had to get surgery for a perfect recovery."

She also shared "It was the first time I'd ever undergone surgery, so I was worried at first. Then my mother suggested that while I'm fixing my crooked nose, I should receive cosmetic surgery as well. That's why it took even longer for me to decide."

She also revealed what her boss thought about having surgery "CEO Yang Hyun Suk is against plastic surgery so I didn't dare bring it up, but I got the courage and discussed it with him. He said , 'In the past, Gummy and Wheesung also suffered from rhinitis. As long as you are going to, you should go with your mother's advice.' With a lot of bravery, I underwent surgery for rhinitis and received cosmetic surgery for my nose."

Minzy shared another reason why she really took the chance to get the surgery saying  "My mother is incredibly fond of me. Though I work out almost every day at the YG gym, it seems she was bothered that I wasn't as thin as the other [2NE1] members. That's why to motivate me, she lost 10 kg (22 lbs). After that, my family members started to go on diets, which is why I naturally lost weight as well."

No matter what surgery does Minzy undergone, she still one of the talented rapper/singer on their group and fans will still love her despite of her surgery issues.
