Leeteuk is heartbroken right now because he lost both his father and grandparents in a devastating car accident. More information is being disseminated in the media about what really took place. 

According to representatives for both the Seoul fire and police department, Leeteuk's father and grandparents did not die from a car accident. Rather, since the "three were discovered in their home", the possibility of suicide is now being investigated. 

Representative for the Dongjak Fire Station told Seoul MBN Star, "Currently, the situation related to Leeteuk's father and grandparents are being reported as a car accident, but this is different from what we know. This was not a car accident; we are looking at the possibility of suicide . . . The three of them were all discovered at their house."

Then another representative for the Dongjak Police Station explained to TV Report, "We moved at 9:07 AM on January 6 and found the three people deceased at their home; therefore, we are looking into possible suicide."

Allegedly, there was also a letter found at the scene which is being presumed to have been "written by Leeteuk's father."

January 7, 2014, a representative stated, "About 9:26, we were dispatched to one apartment in the jurisdiction of Dongjak. When we arrived at the scene, all three of them had already passed away." The representative also further revealed that Leeteuk's grandparents were found on the bed dead and Mr. Park was "found hanged." 

The representative goes on to say, "We believe it to be suicide when we looked at the evidence like rigor mortis, discovery of a suicide note, and the hanging." The "suicide note" that Mr. Park wrote is believed by the police that he "wanted to take his parents with him."

As background, it is being reported that Leeteuk's father took care of his own parents (Leeteuk's grandparents) who were "suffering from advanced Alzheimer's". Mr. Park was also suffering from depression, and the police are examining his 'medical records' to see if further clues can be driven from his medical history and records.

Memorial

Leeteuk's father and grandparents are currently interred at the Guro Hospital Korea University Medical center.  A memorial altar is being planned for January 8, 2014.  Leeteuk's management agency, SM Entertainment, has requested discretion and respect for the Hallyu star.  With media having increased attention, sensationalism is rampant and Leeteuk's family needs to grieve privately as possible.

Stars Say Their Condolences

Once news came out about Leeteuk's father and grandparents, stars said their condolences.

B2ST's Doojoon tweeted, "The always smiling hyung greets us with a smile even today without fail. That makes my heart hurt more. With respect, I hope the deceased rest in peace."

U-KISS's Soohyun tweeted his condolences on his personal Twitter by tweeting, "Your heart must be feeling so much pain. With respect, I hope the deceased rest in peace. Have strength, Leeteuk hyung."

2PM's Chansung left a supportive as well kind message by saying, "Have strength, Leeteuk hyung."

FTISLAND's Lee Hong Ki also tweeted, "Hyungnim, I pray for the repose of the soul of the deceased.  They will surely now be in a better place." 

Ryeowook said about Leeteuk  "My mind has been so preoccupied with leader Leeteuk's unfortunate news that I've been quieter than usual."

Leeteuk With His Parents

Leeteuk is currently serving in the Korean Army until 2014 as well.

Below, in tribute, we show a photo of Leeteuk with his parents during happier times.  Although it was revealed that strife was not uncommon in the Park family a few years ago.  Leeteuk came out in a talk show to speak about his family struggles for the first time.  In the said interview, the Super Junior leader got emotional revealing that while he appreciated his father, he was also scared of him.
