Korean Stars Outraged, "Kim Yuna Was Robbed of Her Gold"

With all of Korea cheering on for figure skater Yuna Kim to win the gold at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, it was a disappointing sight to see, to say the least, that the final scores appeared skewed to give the lesser opponent a "home field advantage". Many stars are claiming this to be an outrage, and they are taking to Twitter to voice their opinions.

The gold medal went to Russian skater Adelina Sotnikova. Fans of Yuna Kim, both national and international, are declaring this an unacceptable outrage, since Adelina Sotnikova was inexplicably given a score that is far better than her performance.

Entertainer Jun Hyun Moo tweeted, "I should be used to Russia messing up, since they couldn't even get the opening ceremonies right. It's not Sochi, it's Suchi (shame, in Korean) Olympics. Yuna was obviously better."

Comedian Park Ji Sun tweeted, "My father and I are boycotting Russian products as of today."

Singer Hwangbo stated, "I was really embarrassed when my own father gave me an award of excellence... I imagine that's how Adelina might feel. Embarrassing."

SBS Broadcaster Bae Gi Wan, who broadcasted the event, tweeted, "I have never seen my broadcasting partner so upset in my life. Why don't they just give the perfect scores to all the Russian athletes? This isn't a competition."

SBS announcer Bae Sung Jae tweeted, "Why did you invite us to the Putin games? Sochi is a shameful mark on the history of the Olympic Games."

KBS announcer Jung Ji Won tweeted, "I find it hard to pass it off as bad luck. It's terrible, and I feel so sorry for Yuna who had to face an uphill battle in a foreign country for her last Olympic appearance. Thank you Yuna for the years you made us proud."

KARA's Gyuri tweeted, "They say the one who committed the crime are the ones that lose sleep over their guilt. I hope the judges lose sleep."

Yuna Kim received a score of 144.19 for the Free Figure Skating performance. Combined with her Short Program score, she totaled 219.11 and received the silver medal.
