CL Of 2NE1 Recalls Her Impromptu Appearance In The Upcoming Psy Video With Snoop Dogg And G-Dragon

When news broke earlier this month that Psy's new music video featured not only an appearance from Snoop Dogg but cameos from Big Bang frontman G-Dragon and 2NE1 frontwoman CL, the anticipation for the new clip, presumably to be released when Psy makes his comeback next month, reached a fever pitch.

But according to CL, her involvement in what could be one of K-pop's biggest international crossover moments, was a bit too spontaneous for her liking.

In an interview released Monday by 2NE1's record label YG Entertainment, CL explained that it was her friendship with Snoop Dogg that led to her last minute inclusion in the high-profile music video shoot.

"I did a performance with Snoop Dogg and he contacted me even before he came to Korea," she said.

"When he came to Korea and I heard he was with Psy, I ran to the site where Psy was filming his music video."

CL admitted watching her performance made her wish she was better prepared.

"Frankly, it's one of the videos that I want to erase," CL said with a laugh.

"It was a good memory for me, but I wasn't dressed up for it. It's a bit of a shame. I wasn't even wearing the right makeup."

The 23-year-old rapper also mused on what it was that 2NE1 fans in the US liked about her band.

"I think people perceive us as unique, because we are," CL said. "They know 2NE1 has something that other girl groups don't have."

"I heard our fans are more attracted to us when we sing in Korean rather than in English," she added. "It was really surprising to me that even though our overseas fans don't understand Korean, they understand the feelings."
