Park Bom Puts On A Brave Face During 2NE1 Yokohama Concerts Amidst Drug Scandal

Despite her alleged drug smuggling scandal, 2NE1 member Park Bom is smiling for her fans nonetheless during the recent concerts in Japan.

On July 5 and July 6, the ladies of 2NE1 held their "All or Nothing" concert at the Yokohama Arena in front of 34,000 fans. Special attention was held for the events, as it was also the first time Park Bom faced the public since reports of her smuggling amphetamines to South Korea dominated headlines.

Despite the founder of Park Bom's record label addressing the alleged drug smuggling reports in a personal letter, new updates claim that the illegal amphetamines confiscated in 2010 were found inside a box labeled "jelly," mixed with candies and snacks.

"If the drugs were purchased illegally in the United States, this is a case that can be punished in the United States as well," said a legal insider according to allkpop. "If the prosecutors did indeed drop the case of someone who smuggled narcotics, then this has to be seen as special treatment."

In addition, Korean publication Segye Ilbo also questions whether Park Bom's parents knew that the amphetamines were illegal in South Korea prior to the package being caught by officials, because the singer's father is reportedly the CEO of a medical treatment company.

On July 5, Park Bom also announced she will not be participating in filming for the reality series "Roommate" this upcoming week, due to the drug scandal controversy.

"I am very sorry to all for having a great controversy because of me," said Park Bom according to her record label YG Entertainment. "Because I feel terrible, I don't have the confidence to film for 'Roommate.'"

Despite such reports, attendees of the 2NE1 concerts in Yokohama took photos showing Park Bom smiling and showing solidarity with her fellow members.

Park Bom and 2NE1 will next be seen at the World Memorial Hall in Kobe, Japan on July 12 and July 13.
