CNBLUE's Jonghyun Hospitalized After Contracting Norovirus

Fans were worried for CNBLUE's Jonghyun after he uploaded a video of himself lying on a hospital bed after having contracted norovirus.

"Ah what's with this norovirus keke leave me alone kekekekeke," said Jonghyun in an Instagram post on April 6, according to an English translation by Koreaboo, seeming to make light of a fairly scary medical situation.

In the video, he can be seen staring into the camera and squinting while turning the camera around the hospital room where he was recovering.

Fans were understandably worried for Jonghyun given the serious symptoms that include diarrhea, abdominal pain and vomiting.

"Norovirus infection can cause the sudden onset of severe vomiting and diarrhea. The virus is highly contagious and commonly spread through food or water that is contaminated by fecal matter during preparation. You can also be infected through close contact with an infected person," according to a medical definition by Mayo Clinic.

It added that norovirus symptoms typically begin 24 to 48 hours after exposure and can last one to three days. Most people able to recover completely without treatment.

The short recovery period has come as a relief for fans and should explain why on April 7 he was able to upload another video which showed him out of the hospital and seemingly well enough to go around town in a car.

Fans wished Jonghyun a speedy full recovery, leaving messages on Instagram like "Get well soon oppa :)" and "I hope you will be fine. Keep healthy."

Jonghyun was recently cast in the celebrity couple reality show We Got Married with actress Gong Seung Yeon as his partner.
