These are The 25 Most Popular Girl Group Idols for August

The Korean Business Research Institute released its brand reputation rankings for K-Pop girl group members for the month of August. To determine which idols make the list, they analyzed trends such as consumer participation, community awareness, and news coverage.

25. GFRIEND's Umji

Umji debuted with GFRIEND in 2015 and is the group's lead rapper, vocalist, and maknae. She joined the group after being scouted by the CEO of Source Music to audition.

24. (G)I-DLE's Shuhua

Shuhua debuted in 2018 with (G)I-DLE and is the group's sub-vocalist, visual, and maknae. Prior to debuting, she wanted to be an actress but switched her dreams to be a K-Pop star after her friends introduced her to the genre. She was inspired by HyunA to be an artist and joined the Cube Audition in Taiwan because her friends asked her to go with them. She is the group's only Taiwanese member.

23. (G)I-DLE's Minnie

Minnie debuted in 2018 with (G)I-DLE and is the group's main vocalist. Fans may have seen her when she appeared on PENTAGON MAKER before her debut. CUBE Entertainment had announced her as a part of CUBE TREE, the company's trainee team, in 2016. She is the group's only Thai member.

Miyeon debuted with (G)I-DLE in 2018 and is the group's main vocalist and visual. She trained under YG Entertainment prior to debut and was part of the line-up for PINK PUNK, which we now know as BLACKPINK. Miyeon was part of the League of Legend's group K/DA.

Prior to her debut, she was part of the line-up for girl group VIVIDIVA and had even performed with them, but left before their debut. She appeared in Soyeon's "Jelly" music video before debuting in (G)I-DLE as the fox girl. CUBE Entertainment had announced her as a part of CUBE TREE, the company's trainee team, in 2017.

Sowon debuted with GFRIEND in 2015 and is the group's leader, main rapper, vocalist, and visual. She trained for five years before making her debut and was previously a trainee under DSP Media, where she trained alongside the members of KARD.

She first debuted as a soloist before debuting as a member of (G)I-DLE. She composes, arranged, and produces most of the group's material. Hyojung debuted with Oh My Girl in 2015 as the group's leader and main vocalist. She was a former Soul Shop Entertainment trainee. Hyojung had only trained for six months under WM Entertainment before making her debut. She is part of the Oh My Girl sub-unit, Oh My Girl Banhana.

She was added to the group following her appearance on "Produce 48", where she ranked 1st place in the finale, earning her the center position. Prior to her debut, she appeared in YDPP's "LOVE IT LIVE IT" music video.

Rosé debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016 and is the group's main vocalist and lead dancer. She joined YG Entertainment after placing first in the auditions in Australia in 2012. Prior to her debut, she collaborated with G-Dragon for his song "Without You". She was born in New Zealand but was raised in Australia.

She is the first non-Korean artist to ever make their debut under YG Entertainment and is Thai. Prior to her debut, she was in a dance crew called We Zaa Cool with GOT7's Bambam. She appeared in Taeyang's "Ringa Linga" music video. From 2014 to 2017, she acted in NONA9ON's advertisements. In 2020, she appeared in the Chinese survival show "Youth With You" as the dance mentor.

She also appeared in VICTON's "I'm Fine" music video, PSY's "New Face" music videos, and SPEED's music videos for "It's Over" and "That's My Fault". She is also active as an actress, acting in both dramas and movies.
