Girls' Generation Lyrics Slammed By Eat Your Kimchi: SM Entertainment To Blame For 'Mr.Mr.' Korean Verses?

As Girls' Generation makes their long-awaited return with "Mr.Mr.", popular YouTube channel Eat Your Kimchi is taking a stand against its Korean lyrics.

In a recent Music Monday video, the Eat Your Kimchi crew dissected and opined on the latest Girls' Generation single and music video. During the segment, they also evaluate the English or Korean used within the song.

"Mr.Mr." is being criticized for its Korean lyrics, which appears to be confusing and nonsensical.

"As a Korean, I have so many problems with understanding ['Mr.Mr.']," says Eat Your Kimchi crew member Soo Zee.

"I've had this problem with SM since, like, Boa a decade ago. They don't make sense. I can't understand as a Korean."

Although it's still too early to make conclusions, "Mr.Mr." has been met with a lackluster response compared to their previous songs.

As expected, the song shot to the top of MelOn music charts as soon as it was released, but it was quickly taken over by SISTAR Soyou and Junggigo's collaboration song "Some."

They also were overtaken by 2NE1's comeback on the 26th.

Could the quality of the song have something to do with fan reactions?

For those who speak Korean, do the lyrics of "Mr.Mr." bother you?
