With just about two months left in 2014, preparations have begun for K-Pop's various year end events - award ceremonies, special performances, and final grabs for record sales and promotions. However, one group will be noticeably absent from activities in the next couple months.

On October 24 a representative from YG Entertainment revealed that girl group 2NE1 will not be present for the usual year-end activities this time around.

"Though they've received a number of offers, 2NE1 has decided not to attend any music award ceremonies at the end of this year." the rep told Korean media outlet TenAsia.

The one exception will be CL's solo appearance at the Style Icon Awards hosted by CJ E&M on October 28. The 2NE1 leader is scheduled for a special performance with American DJ Diplo at the event.

CL, who is known throughout the world as much for her fashion-forwardness and style as her music, recently announced plans to debut in the US with a single this coming spring. As she prepares for the release with the help of American talent agent Scooter Braun, CL reportedly plans to reamin quite busy over the next several months traveling back and forth between South Korea and the US.

Additionally, Bom's drug scandal earlier this year created some tensions and may have something to do with the group's abstinence from end of the year activities.

"Park Bom is still reflecting, so we ask for your understanding," the YG rep added.

Despite reported plans that 2NE1 is planning to release a comeback album sometime next year, the latest news is fueling the disbandment rumors currently surrounding the girl group. In addition to CL's solo activities, youngest member Minzy recently caused a stir on social media when she removed "2NE1" from her various account profiles.

YG Entertainment previously addressed the rumors, calling them "ridiculous."
