Queen's Brian May Gushes Over 'Incredible Performer Adam Lambert; Compares 'American Idol' Alum To Freddie Mercury

Brian May gushed about how Adam Lambert performed during the whole duration of his tour with Queen. The legendary guitarist even paid the "American Idol" alum the greatest compliment: comparing him with the late Freddie Mercury.

"Adam has really transformed, I must say," he told Muzyka per Unreality TV. "And, he shares that with Freddie."

"Freddie was always good, but he transformed himself from a singer who could do this or this into this really sort of god-like performer. Adam is the same. He's really evolved, hugely," Brian May added.

"He's much more comfortable in his shoes. He's much more confident with an audience. In fact, it is like he was born to it. He's grown into the part."

The Queen + Adam Lambert Tour has been making waves in Europe as the band performed to sold-out venues.

Brian May previously told Irish Times that they feel very lucky with the collaboration with Adam Lambert for the Queen tour.

"It's not Freddie, you know," he said. "He doesn't for an instant try and be Freddie. But some of the stuff he brings is very, very parallel, very similar, you know, the likeness he brings, apart from the extraordinary instrument, I mean, incredible instrument he has as a vocalist."

Adam Lambert also told UK Express in a previous interview that the Queen tour helped him evolve as an artist and he's now working on his latest solo album.

The "American Idol" alum said his album is heavily influenced by the time he spent with the Queen band during the tour.

"Being on the road with a British rock band, and being in London a lot this year... I think that has affected my sound and where we are headed with it," Lambert said. "Europe is very ahead of the curve... and I was definitely influenced by that."
