Muhammad Ali Roots For Manny Pacquiao In Match Vs Floyd Mayweather, Jr Amid Concerns Of 'Pacman's' Leg Cramps

Muhammad Ali is team Pacquiao all the way leading up to the mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather on May 2. Meanwhile, reports are filtering in that the Filipino champ is suffering from leg cramps during training.

In a report from TMZ, Muhammad Ali's daughter revealed that her father has been following Manny Pacquiao's career.

"My dad really likes Manny. He's a huge fan of his," Rasheda Ali said. "He knows Manny's a great fighter ... but it's more about what he does outside the ring. He's such a charitable person."

As to the fight, Muhammad Ali is already excited about watching the Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather mega-fight although his health refrains him from seeing it live in Vegas.

"There's no question he's going to order it. It takes my dad way back to when he was fighting," the boxing legend's daughter added.

She also revealed that Manny Pacquiao and Muhammad Ali have been friends since they met on the 70th birthday party of "The Greatest" in 2012.

Rasheda Ali also said that while Muhammad Ali has high respects for Floyd Mayweather as a fighter, his personal life leaves something to be desired.

"My dad stood for things. Mayweather ... I don't think there's a comparison," she said.

Meanwhile, coach Freddie Roach revealed to Yahoo Sports that Manny Pacquiao has been suffering from leg cramps during training but there's no cause for concern.

"There's no magic cure for it. We're doing what we can do. I've got the doctors working on it. There are some Filipino guys here who are massaging it for him. The cream cost $1,800 for a single bottle. I wasn't too happy about that," he said.

Coach Freddie Roach said that for the Floyd Mayweather mega-fight, the changed the running drills for Manny Pacquiao and that means ditching their usual routine to have him run on hills.

"When he was young, it was OK, but he's getting a little older and the wear and tear of going up that hill, which is all concrete, is really not good for his legs. On the days he spars, he goes [to run at] Pan Pacific Park, and on the other days, we go over to UCLA," Freddie Roach said.
