Maria Sharapova Relationship Not Good For Boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov Tennis Career? Bulgarian Player Stumbles Before French Open 2015

Maria Sharapova may not be the best thing that happened for Grigor Dimitrov. Seeing how he has been stumbling on clay courts right before French Open 2015 shows that his relationship with Maria Sharapova may be more of a distraction than a help.

According to Tennis World, Grigor Dimitrov has been having a hard time proving his talent this tennis season. The article reports, “Before the start of the Istanbul Open, Dimitrov had talked in detail about the growth he’d had as a player since last year and how he was expecting to do well in the season ahead. In the initial stages of the tournament, he did manage to do it – even achieving the milestone of 150 match wins. But as straight-forward as his route was in the earlier rounds, the upset by Cuevas ended his momentum discordantly.”

Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov may have agreed to split to concentrate on their clay court season. Seeing how they both have been faltering, they may need to train independently to prepare for the French Open 2015.

Grigor Dimitrov, who usually gets his girlfriend to take pictures for his Instagram, took a selfie to show that he and Maria Sharapova are going their separate ways for the time being.

That may be the smart thing to do as the clay court season is in full swing. According to the Guardian, “The three-times defending champion Maria Sharapova was bounced out of the Porsche Grand Prix by Angelique Kerber of Germany, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1, in the second round of the Stuttgart tournament.”

He also didn’t perform very well at Monte Carlo 2015, which means that he needs to train harder if he wants to have a decent shot at winning French Open 2015.

But Maria Sharapova has such a strong work ethic that it may be scaring her boyfriend Grigor DImitrov. After Billie Jean King praised the Russian player’s work ethic, Grigor Dimitrov went to Monaco to get into the mindset for the upcoming French Open 2015.

Maria Sharapova may have gone with him, but it’s unclear if, at the end, she chose to stay in Manhattan Beach instead of Monaco.

The fans are hoping that the world number 2 will step up her game at French Open 2015.

In a recent interview with Reuters, Maria Sharapova confirmed some details about her rivalry with Serena Williams.

“She’s at the peak of her career. I am now number two in the world,” she said. “I feel like we’re still driven and hungry to be the best tennis players. I don’t think anyone in the tennis world believed that, in 10 years’ time, we would still be rivals. I think it’s an incredible story.”

As most of her fans know, the rivalry between Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams hasn’t strictly been professional. They did once fight over Grigor Dimitrov as well!
