K-Beauty Review: DR. JART+ Water-Full Hydrogel, Water Replenishment, Blackhead Master Masks

Dr. Jart+ is known for being a high-end K-Beauty brand, with face masks that promise to do a lot for nearly $10 a sheet. Here we review three of Dr. Jart's face masks and see which ones are worth your pretty penny, featuring the Water Fuse Water-Full Hydrogel Mask, the Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask, and the Blackhead Master Patch. Watch the video review below!

Description

Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Water-Full Hydrogel Mask: boasts the ability to restore hydration, elasticity, and smoothness to the skin for a moist and dewy face. With natural extracts from olive leaf, cranberry, and Sophora Japonica Flower - combined with hyaluronic acid - the mask helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and signs of aging.

Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask: This mask is specifically made for people with sensitive skin - it's hypoallergenic and made of natural fiber and botanicals. Allantoin and witch hazel provide moisture and are soothing to the skin, while the bio-cellulose sheet gives a cooling sensation for clean and hydrated skin.

Blackhead Master Patch: The blackhead patch contains coral powder, sage, and tea tree extract to extract blackheads, unclog pores, tone, and tighten the skin.

Packaging

Water-Full Hydrogel Mask: The mask comes in a single-use pouch. It has two parts to it - one for the top half of the face, and one for the bottom. This makes for easier application onto the face.

Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask: The mask comes in a single-use pouch. It is all in one, round sheet.

Blackhead Master Patch: Unlike drugstore brands, this blackhead patch comes with two parts - one dry part to remove blackheads, and one wet part to tone and tighten the skin and pores.

Application

Water-Full Hydrogel Mask: This mask is applied like a patch. You open up the mask, peel off the backing, and apply it straight onto your face. It is recommended that you put the mask in the refrigerator before using, to get the ultimate cooling experience. Remove the mask after 20-30 minutes and do not wash or rinse face afterwards.

Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask: This sheet was harder to unravel because it didn't have a backing, which made me worried that it would tear. Luckily it didn't and I applied it to my face for 30 minutes, massaging any leftover serum on my face and from the package into my skin.

Blackhead Master Patch: First, you apply the dry patch to your wet nose. You leave it to dry for 10 minutes and then slowly peel off to extract blackheads. Immediately after, you apply the moist patch and let it do its work for 10 minutes, before removing it and massaging the remaining serum into your nose.

Product

Water-Full Hydrogel Mask: The formula is indeed highly hydrating. It feels cool and tingly and smells slightly herbal. I've never used a mask with a sticky gel side to it but it helped the mask cling to my face, while other masks have the tendency to slip and slide. It felt like an at-home spa treatment.

Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask: This felt like the lite version of the Hydrogel mask. It felt nice, but didn't come with the same intensive gel side for maximum hydration.

Blackhead Master Patch: I liked that this was more than your average drugstore blackhead nose patch because it came with a healing patch as well - my nose always feels quite raw after peeling away blackheads.

Results

Water-Full Hydrogel Mask: My face was glowing after keeping this mask on for the lengthy 30 minutes. My skin was in such great shape it looked like I was wearing makeup! All my blemishes were reduced in redness and size.

Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask: This mask felt great and very refreshing, but wasn't nearly as magical as the Water-Full Hydrogel Mask. This is a mask you would need to use regularly to get longer-lasting results. My skin felt hydrated, but my blemishes were still quite visible.

Blackhead Master Patch: I was disappointed with the results of this mask. It worked about half as well as my Biore blackhead nose patches, and while the wet patch did soothe my skin, it didn't give glowing results and made my nose itch.

Pros & Cons

Water-Full Hydrogel Mask: The results are unmistakable and the product truly does what it claims to do. However, the price is exorbitant.

Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask: Nice and refreshing mask, but not heavy-duty like the Hydrogel Mask. It would be a nice mask to add to your nightly skincare routine and is at a more reasonable price.

Blackhead Master Patch: For this price, I would stick to drugstore brands for blackhead patches.

Water-Full Hydrogel Mask: At Sephora, you can get five masks for $42.00.

Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask: You can get one sheet for $7.50 here.

Blackhead Master Patch: Both patches come together for $7.50 here.
