SM Entertainment Calls G-Dragon-Taeyeon Dating Rumors 'Groundless'

Big Bang's G-Dragon and Taeyeon of Girls' Generation are not in a relationship.

A rumor created by an online community was shut down on Thursday after the alleged relationship gained traction online. The agency of both Taeyeon and G-Dragon quickly shut down the rumors.

SM Entertainment, Girls' Generation's agency, denied the claims while Big Bang's agency, YG Entertainment, declined to comment on the situation.

The rumor alleged that the pair started dating shortly after G-Dragon ended his alleged relationship with Kiko Mizuhara and Taeyeon's relationship with EXO's Baekhyun came to a close.

According to the K-Pop Herald, the tale claimed that G-Dragon fell in love for Taeyeon due to her resembling his first crush, SM Entertainment soloist BoA.

The rumor also said that the two had known of each other for several years.

SM Entertainment told a local Korean news outlet that the alleged scandal was hardly worth responding to.

"The rumor is a piece of groundless information, more like a fiction novel," said SM's rep.

YG Entertainment declined to comment.

The rumor was sourced back to an online flier known as "jjirasi" in South Korea, a sort of rumor-filled document that covers rumors revolving around the lives of celebrities, Korea's chaebols, and political situations.

Taeyeon recently released her first solo album, "I," while G-Dragon recently returned to South Korea following the completion of several overseas stops of Big Bang's "MADE" concert series.
