Blake Shelton Unfazed By 'Awkward' Marriage Jokes Even With Miranda Lambert Around?

Since the announcement of their divorce a few months ago, speculations about Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's current relationship status have been coming out.

In the upcoming Country Music Association Awards on Nov. 4, it has been rumored that the 39-year-old country music crooner and his 31-year-old ex-wife may feel awkward about meeting each other again, especially that it will be the first time that they are both attending it as an ex-couple.

In his interview with "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (as shared by "People" magazine), Blake Shelton revealed that with Miranda Lambert around, he is expecting that marriage jokes will be part of the show.

"This year is going to be awkward at the CMAs, speaking of jokes," the "Bringing Back The Sunshine" singer admitted. "[Country music] is such a family. Everybody there is friends, you know?"

The "The Voice" coach continued by saying, "There's gotta be a joke about me and Miranda. [Co-host] Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn't look down there and go, 'Haha!' I mean, he's gotta do it."

When asked about dealing with "zingers aimed at his personal life," which may involve Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton responded by telling the host, "You have to address the elephant in the room."

"We've had the conversations, like, 'Okay, dude, I will go sit there and let you kick me in the face a few times," he added. "I know it's coming, you know."

In the meantime, Taste of Country reported that the "Bring Me Down" singer has been chosen once again by Kenny Chesney to star with him in various shows next year.

"Miranda was such an awesome addition in Chicago," Chesney reportedly quipped. "When I was thinking about what I wanted to do this year, how to keep the energy we had and give the fans something truly great musically, she just made sense. "

Both Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are predicted to take home major awards in this year's CMA.
