"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" Milla Jovovich gave a sneak peek into the film.

"Resident Evil" has come a long way since its inception as a RPG video game where a zombie apocalypse has you going head first into a fight for survival. The worldwide success of the video series eventually led up to a film adaptation that became equally successful.

The "Resident Evil" film franchise has already made five movies since its first release and "Resident Evil :The Final Chapter" is the sixth and last installment into the series.

The official synopsis reads, "Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

"In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.”

Milla Jovovich reportedly took to Instagram to share a photo of herself in full make up and suprised her followers with an elderly looking face. For the "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" production, she noted that her "aged" makeup look took over four hours to do.

Her character, Alice, is the franchise's main protagonist and has been in the films since the very beginning. While the old Alice may have fans of the series have reason to believe that it may be directly related to the film's ending. Gamezone reported that, Jovovich confirmed otherwise.

The "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" film's release date is set to January 27, 2017.
