The release date of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" could be revealed this December, as it is scheduled to be shown as a preview during the showing of the upcoming "Star Wars" movie.

In a report by Comic Book.com, Stephen Amell recently revealed at the recently held Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in San Jose that the upcoming trailer is expected to drop in the cinemas this December.

"If you're a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fan, then you're going to want to go to the theater in December before a relatively big movie that's being released for a fantastic trailer," said Amell.

According to the site, the upcoming trailer that is expected to reveal the release date of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" may show during the showing of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which is set to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.

Meanwhile, Paramount chairman and CEO Brad Grey announced last year in an Entertainment Weekly report the confirmation of a "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" release date.

"To know moviegoers are embracing the Turtles with such enthusiasm is everything that we and all our filmmakers have been hoping for," stated Grey. "We are thrilled with this weekend's result, the enduring power of this franchise, and the opportunity to make another one."

"Launching a new take on the Turtles into the feature film world was a daunting task," Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman added in a statement, "because as fans of them ourselves, we felt a great responsibility to ensure audiences were going to experience everything they loved about the Turtles, while also getting to see them brought to life in a way they had never been seen before. The result exceeded our high expectations and the response to the film is beyond great, making it all the more fun to get started on the continuation of their story."
