Miranda Lambert left Blake Shelton totally heartbroken.

This appeared to be the scenario after the country music superstars decided to live separate lives.

In an interview with "Life & Style" magazine (as shared by Celeb Dirty Laundry), a source from the hometown of the 39-year-old country crooner reportedly revealed that he somehow hoped for forever with the 31-year-old fellow country star.

"He said, 'I really thought that she was the one who'd be holding my hand the day I died,'" a certain Carol told the magazine. "He thought she was his forever."

"Blake didn't want the marriage to break up," the source added.

The report noted that "Blake Shelton was devastated when his marriage to Miranda Lambert went sour, she broke his heart."

The same report pointed out that "the odds of them reconciling are slim to none, no matter how much trouble Miranda Lambert causes with Gwen."

In the meantime, the report also dished that the "Bring Me Down" singer is mad at the former No Doubt lead vocalist.

"Lambert is furious that Blake has already moved on, and with Gwen Stefani at that!" it claimed.

On the other hand, Hollywood Life reported that Blake Shelton "has a lot of trust issues, and he's bringing them into his new relationship with Gwen Stefani" following his split from Miranda Lambert.

"Blake seems like the most confident guy in the world, but his split with Miranda really did a number on him," a source reportedly stated. "Although he won't talk about it, there have been non stop rumors that she betrayed him."

The insider continued by saying, "One thing is for certain, that he was really hurt by Miranda and that has left a scar on his heart."

With this, the source asserted that "He's keeping things fairly light with Gwen and part of that is because he's scared to get hurt again."
