'Oshiete! Galko-Chan' Manga Licensed By Seven Seas Entertainment, Series To Be Released In Color

Seven Seas Entertainment continues to roll out manga announcements for their 2016 release slate, this time making announcements about a slice-of-life series about school girls, and a mysterious fantasy series with magicians named after famous composers.

Basically, Seven Seas Entertainment has something for everybody.

One of the licensed series announced by Seven Seas Entertainment today was the "Oshiete! Galko-Chan" manga. The manga, which is a slice-of-life story about three school girls will be released by the company in North America in full color. The manga will be released in single-volumes on November 22, 2016.

Fans on Twitter responded favorably to the announcement of "Oshiete! Galko-Chan."

"OMG Yes! This is fantastic news. I have been meaning to read this manga for some time," said TwirlingBookPrincess.

The official English title for "Oshiete! Galko-chan" is now "Please Tell Me! Galko-Chan" and is written and illustrated by Suzuki Kenya. An anime adaptation of the manga was announced earlier this year, and will premiere sometime in January 2016. It is the first full-color manga that Seven Seas Entertainment has ever licensed.

Seven Seas publisher Jason DeAngelis had the following to say about the specialness of "Oshiete! Galko-Chan."

"The series is not only visually impressive, but the jokes and social commentary are irreverent and hilarious. With an anime debuting in early 2016, we're extra-excited to bring the source material to readers and fans starting next Fall," said DeAngelis.

For those not familiar with the series, Anime News Network describes the story of "Oshiete! Galko-Chan" as follows:

"The 'somewhat stimulating? Short comedy' manga follows the everyday lives of three high school girls who are close friends: Galko, Otako, and Ojō."

It goes on:

"Galko is a slightly foul-mouthed but good-natured girl who is popular in her class. Her hobby is film appreciation. Otako is a girl who sits in the corner of the classroom, but for some reason is good friends with Galko. Ojō is an airheaded girl who often talks with Galko and Otako."
