Recently, however, a transcript was released online via Popsugar where the two talked about some very personal topics.

The couple promoted their latest film, "By the Sea" at the Today show from NBC. They sat down with Tom and spoke up about their relationship, specifically how they dealt with Angelina's recent mastectomy.

When asked as to what his role was in the whole endeavor, Brad said that it was to support his wife no matter what.

"Whatever's got to be done to keep the family together and keep the family together as long as possible is gonna be done," he shared. "This was her charge, no question. It's a scary decision. There's many things that can go wrong and go many different directions."

Moreso, the actor revealed how he reacted upon finding out about his wife's condition for the first time. "I was out in France, and Angie called me and I got straight on a plane to return," he said. "Seeing my wife have to be her strongest and knowing that it's the scariest news is terribly moving. And not being there is a horrible feeling."

To add to what is considered by fans to be a rare Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie interview, the "Tomb Raider" actress spoke up about what she thought about the public's reaction to her decision of having mastectomy.

"You never know what a reaction is - you have to just make the choices you make in life," she said. "I made the choices I made because I believed they were right for me."

"I knew through the surgeries that he was on my side and that this wasn't something where I was gonna feel less of a woman, because my husband wasn't gonna let that happen," the actress also revealed about how she felt about Brad's support throughout the whole endeavor.
