"Penny Dreadful" fans rejoice as the wait is finally over for the release date and trailer announcement.

Unfortunately, the wait is not over for the actual season.

Over the past few weeks, Showtime has revealed several "Penny Dreadful" season three spoilers. First, the company confirmed that the new season premiere date is set for May 1, and they dropped three separate teasers for upcoming episodes. Fans can check out all the teasers for the new season below.

As for the teasers, the first gives a look at the overall season, giving brief glimpses of returning cast members Eva Green, Billie Piper, Josh Hartnett, and Reeve Carney. In particular, Green, who plays the series lead character Vanessa Ives is featured in a psychiatric ward, suggesting that she'll be particularly unhinged in the new season.

Luckily for Vanessa, she'll be receiving treatment from Dr. Seward. Dr. Seward will be played by returning guest star (now series regular) Patti LuPone, who made waves last season as the Cut Wife.

As for the other two teasers, one entitled "Frightened" depicts the much hoped for reunion between Ethan (Josh Hartnett) and Vanessa. Buried in the teaser however is what looks to be zombie-like creatures breaking into Vanessa's house, perhaps suggesting another new enemy besides Satan.

The third and final teaser is entitled "Touched By Satan" and offers a first look at the activities of Dorian Gray and Lily, another visit for Dr. Frankenstein by the Creature, and Ethan's imprisonment in America. In particular, it looks like Dorian and Lily are making some sinister "revenge" plans and that Ethan is still struggling with controlling his powers.

While the plot spoilers are still coming together, according to creator John Logan, fans can definitely expect the series to expand outward to many places besides London.

"Season three is a real change of pace for us, which is good. We can get out of the alleys and cobblestone bars of Victorian London and see a bit more of the world. Essentially there's a pull bringing these characters together, and it's supernatural, partly romantic, partly shared destiny," said Logan to THR.
