Friends Reunion 2016: All six members of the "Friends" cast - Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer - will appear in a two-hour special dedicated to James Burrows, a veteran comedy director whose portfolio includes "Cheers," "Taxi," "Mary Tyler Moore," "The Bob Newhart Show" "Laverne & Shirley," "Frasier," "Will & Grace" and "The Big Bang Theory."

David Schwimmer signed on to star in AMC's drama series "Feed the Beast." He was recently featured as Robert Kardashian, Kim Kardashian's attorney father, in the upcoming "American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson."

The series  is based on the Danish drama "Bankerot." "Feed the Beast" centers around two best friends, Tommy Moran (Schwimmer), and Dion Patras (Sturgess) who take one last shot at their dream of opening a restaurant.

"Under Clyde's creative leadership, 'Feed the Beast' is a layered character piece and a highly entertaining story," president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV Joel Stillerman said in a statement.

"To have David Schwimmer and Jim Sturgess along with the rest of our wonderful cast bringing this story to life is incredibly exciting, and we can't wait to get started in a few weeks."

The show also features Michael Gladis ("Mad Men") as a mobster, Christine Adams ("Batman Begins") as Tommy's late wife, Lorenza Izzo ("The Green Inferno"), John Doman ("The Affair") as Tommy's father, and Elijah Jacob ("Spot On") as Tommy's 10-year-old son.

The cast of "Friends" will all appear on the James Burrows special but not together. Matthew Perry will shoot his segment in London where he is for rehearsals of his playwriting debut, "The End of Longing." The play begins previews on February 2 at the Playhouse Theatre.

"Matthew will not be attending as he is in London in rehearsals for his play, The End of Longing," Perry's rep Lisa Kasteler, said in a statement.

"NBC executives were aware of this prior to their (Television Critics Association) announcement" Wednesday.  "Matthew may tape something for the tribute.  In other words, this is not the reunion people have been hoping for."
