The Vampire Diaries star Ian Ian Somerhalder hit the red carpet at the Spirit Awards in Santa Monica.

The 37-year-old Vampire Diaries actor was joined by his actress wife, Nikki Reed and Mr. Robot's Rami Malek.

Reed and Somerhalder were definitely one of the best-looking couples on the blue carpet at the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday.

The 'Vampire Diaries' star recently revealed he can't wait for his wife of nine months to get pregnant with their first child.

"Oh, hell yes! Absolutely. You know, it's all about practice... It's not practice makes perfect - it's perfect practice," he told Entertainment Tonight.

"It's the most incredible thing to be happy and secure in something. It's a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world - but I really can't wait to do it and really just love it."

The couple already have a number of pets together - four dogs, three cats and two horses - who Ian refers to as their "babies".

"I'm going to be editing my episode [of 'The Vampire Diaries'] all night, and that's just kind of my main focus right now," he told Entertainment Tonight.

"Other than that, I'm just hanging with my wife and my babies - our babies, all these furry creatures that we have."

You radiate warmth in vibrant reds and deep orange hues," Reed wrote to her social media. "I often wonder what it would be like to see autumn arrive through your eyes.
