The fans of the ''Pure Heroine'' famed singer have been waiting for the new album 2016 for a long time now. It seems that there will be delay in releasing the album as no definite date has been released for it yet.

As per the last update, Lorde was mourning the death of her hero David Bowie and the fans expected that she might include some tribute to the legend in her new album. In Feb. 2016, Just Jared reported about her performance at BRIT awards. ''Lorde gets sentimental on stage as she performs at the 2016 BRIT Awards held at the O2 Arena on Wednesday (February 24) in London, England'' reported the article. ''The 19-year-old singer performed David Bowie's song "Life on Mars" as a tribute to the late performer.''

She also has been spending quality time with her BFF Taylor Swift and both were seen together during the Oscars. It is expected that both the singing sensations will do a world tour together.

Lorde was the ''force behind the 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1' soundtrack'' and now since there are talks of more movies coming in that franchise, will Lorde be a part of those projects too?

''There has been rampant speculation that 2016 will be the year that Lorde releases a new album, but details have been scarce. Lorde teased fans on New Year's Eve when she posted on Twitter, "whispered the album name to my mum in the car today." Since then, Lorde has been noticeably silent on the subject'' reported Inquisitr. There were already these hush hush talks about the title of her second album.

"I definitely love writing pop music, but in terms of structure and formula-you know it, and then you know it. I'm probably always going to return to that kind of structure, but it's nice to branch out a bit" clarified Lorde.

Apart from being a part of the music scene, this ''Royals'' famed singer was quite a bit a part of the fashion arena too. ''Lorde was also too busy to record her new album as she took in New York Fashion Week in September, 2015, attending the Kanye West show for his Yeezy Season 2 line. Lorde was sat between Kourtney Kardashian and Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci'' reported Inquisitr.

''Lorde has given fans an update on the progress of her second album'' reported NME last year. ''The New Zealand star released her debut album 'Pure Heroine' in 2013, with her producer and co-writer Joel Little recently claiming that the singer was "trying new things" for her next LP.''

Lorde also revealed that her work has been influenced by Swedish electro-popper Robyn. Even though her social media posts indicated that she is working full-swing on her new album, there has been no further information available.

"For me I have to kind of write a project lyrically before I attack it musically. So I've written a lot of amazing stuff and I'm just tentatively starting to make it music" clarified Lorde while talking at the Golden Globe awards in 2015.

So when she was asked about the release of her second album, "I have no timeline," was her response. ''I really don't care" she added further. So going by what Lorde herself has said, the fans will have to wait for an indefinite time for the release of her new LP.
