Fans Call For Kangin To Leave Group After Drunk Driving Incident

Korean fans of Super Junior are getting tired of Kangin's constant scandals.

On May 25, a post was made on popular Korean forum "DC Inside" titled "Petition For Kangin To Leave Super Junior."

The petition read, "Due to Kangin's illegal activities, Super Junior's image has taken a hit. It is unfair for Kangin to continue promoting as a member of Super Junior."

In addition to Kangin's recent incident, the petition also cited a multide of the idol group member's other controversies and issues, including a drunk driving incident in 2009, an assault case in 2009, and a military service scandal in 2015.

"Although Kangin was supposed to reflect on his actions while in the military, it doesn't seem like he has made any changes," the petition read. "As a public figure, his actions have brought harm and worry to society."

The petition also stated that Kangin should withdraw from the group because his actions have done nothing but brought harm to Super Junior's name and will make it difficult for Super Junior to promote in the future.

"As Super Junior fans, we have no choice but to make this petition in order to protect the image of Super Junior," the petition concluded.

According to a poll on the original article, 95 percent of voters agree that Kangin should leave the group. Only five percent say that Kangin leaving the group is a bit overboard.

Following the drunk driving incident, SM Entertainment immediately put all Kangin's activities on hold.
