Kang Dong-Won plays a child trapped in a body of adult in the upcoming movie 'Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned'

Kang Dong-Won showcases his good acting to play a 13-year-old boy who is trapped in an adult body in the upcoming movie “Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned.” The movie is scheduled to release on Oct. 16.

Kang Dong-Won is cast to play Sung-Min, who returned a few days after being lost during a school trip to mountain when he was 13-year old in the movie, which is also known by its alternate title “Hidden Time.” Upon his return, the 13-year-old boy is trapped into an adult body.

He come to his best friend Soo-Rin, saying that he was trapped in a place where time stopped for a decade. Therefore, his body grows but his inner self is still a 13-year old boy. Playing a 13-year-old boy in an adult body is a challenge for Kang, as he said in an interview with MBN.

“The scenario is unique and offer a new possibilities to explore the character,” Kang said.

“Hidden Time” is scheduled to release on Nov. 16 according to  CC Today. The movie is written and directed by Uhm Tae-Hwa. “Hidden Time” is his third movie project and his first time to work for the Showbox/Mediaplex movie production.

Child actress Shin Eun-Soo was cast to play Soo-Rin, and this is her first time to play in the movie. Her first acting was in the the upcoming drama “Legend of the Blue Sea.” She was cast to play teenage Sim Chung, whose adult character is played by Gianna Jun.

While child actor Lee Hyo-Je is selected to play the young Sung-Min. He was known to play the young Kim Yoon-Sung, the childhood friend of crown prince Lee Young in the “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” .
