CNBLUE's Yonghwa threatens legal action as malicious rumors concerning him continues to spread

Even after having his name cleared of all charges, CNBLUE's Yonghwa can't seem to escape the malicious rumors revolving around him. Now it appears that he, along with his talent agency, have had enough of all the rumors and harassment that is why they are threatening to take a legal course of action against those who continue to spread lies about the singer online.

This was announced by FNC Entertainment themselves on October 31. The statement says "We are now planning to take legal actions against those who are spreading and creating malicious rumors and false information regarding our artist Jung Yonghwa. The same goes to those people that engage in activities that seek to defame the character of our artist."

The rumors mostly spread through the Internet. "Yonghwa had constantly been targeted by malicious netizens. Often creating posts and leaving comments on various online communities, SNS, and portal sites about the singer. We have gathered much of these malicious posts and will no longer tolerate them as we plan to take a strict legal course of action against those who seek to harass our artist in the future. Online harassment has become widespread not only in the entertainment industry but in our whole society and for that, we will strive through our efforts to maintain a healthy online culture." FNC Entertainment said, as reported by Allkpop.

It is indeed true that Yonghwa has become a victim of character assassination after he was falsely accused of engaging in insider trading early this year with his fellow CNBLUE member Lee Jonghyun. After much investigation, Yonghwa was finally cleared of all charges but unfortunately, Lee Jonghyun confessed to purchasing stock after FNC Entertainment signed a popular celebrity. Luckily for Jonghyun, he got out with only a fine as he opted not to resell when he learned that what he did was illegal.

In the end, FNC Entertainment apologized to the public for the unfortunate incident that their talents were involved in, promising to improve with their management.

Cyber bullying and online harassment has become a widespread problem that not only celebrities and public figures experience on a daily basis. A lot of people, whether they realize it or not, have become rather quite undisciplined with how they engage in online activities, often feeling empowered by the anonymity that the Internet provides without further heed to the repercussions their actions may cause.
