If you're anxiously waiting for the airing of tvN's upcoming drama Goblin, then you only have a few days to wait. Just recently, tvN had released new stills for the upcoming series and there could only be one word to describe them: epic.

In the stills, you will see Gong Yoo on the battlefield, sporting long hair and wearing a heavy warrior's armor. The series of images are quite refreshing to the eyes because Gong Yoo may have played all sorts of roles before, but this is actually the first time people will see him in a sageuk (historical drama), as Soompi reports.

The stills came with a teaser showing Gong Yoo's character fighting in what obviously is a war and while the scene may just be a small part of the show, it is quite significant as it shows the Goblin before his immortal state. The scene then cuts to hundreds of years later with a high school girl introducing herself to the goblin and claiming to be the mortal bride he was waiting for.

From what all the teasers have shown, Goblin (The Lonely Shining Goblin), seems to be quite a promising series tinged with all sorts of drama and sadness. The teasers alone were brilliantly made and exhibits so much mystery that it can leave anyone who watches them anticipating for the series.

When asked about filming the battle scene, Gong Yoo says "This is actually my first time playing in a historical drama so I was pretty nervous. I'm not used to wearing the makeup and costumes but it was alright. This scene plays an important role in the early stages of the drama so please watch out for it."

Goblin tells the story of an immortal tasked with guiding the souls of the departed into the afterlife who dreams of ending his immortality. The series also stars Lee Dong Wook who plays a reaper who lives with the goblin, Kim Go Eun as a high school girl and the mortal bride who is the key to ending the goblin's immortality. According to Allkpop, the series will start airing on December 2, 2016.

This will be Gong Yoo's first TV series after starring in the phenomenal apocalyptic film "Train to Busan".
