'My Annoying Brother' premiere this week; EXO’s D.O. play along acclaimed actor Jo Jung-Suk

“My Annoying Brother” is set to hit theaters this week. Starring EXO idol group member D.O. and acclaimed actor Jo Jung-Suk, the movie by CJ Entertainment is set to feature them in a series of comedy and drama scenes.

CJ Entertainment decided to advance the premiere of “My Annoying Brother,” which was originally scheduled to release on November 30, into a week earlier. The comedy drama was written by the same playwright who wrote the box-office hits “Miracle in Cell Number 7,” Yoo Yeong-Ah. "Miracle" is still placed in the Top 10 list of all-time highest-grossing films in Korea, with a record of 12.8 million people who watched the 2013 movie.

The comedy drama revolves around the story of two brothers who have been separated and reunited after 15 years. Although there's nothing new with the story and plot, Yonhap News Agency nonetheless reported that Jo Jung-Suk's skillful acting has given the movie a way out from its cliche storyline.

Doo-Young, the younger brother, is a promising judo athlete, while the older brother, Doo-Sik is a notorious con-artist who has been convicted 10 times. He received parole because of his younger brother’s achievement in judo. Due to an unfortunate accident that cause Doo-Young to have temporary blindness, Doo-Sik had to look after him.

Afterward, the two estranged brothers stayed together in the same house and the story eventually developed into a funny and heartwarming story.

This is a golden oportunity for EXO member D.O., who used his full name in the movie Do Kyung-Soo, to try a different role for his acting project. In an interview with Seoul Daily News, he said that he has a certain burden to play a visually-impaired person.

"I went to the place where I can learn to play blind person,” he said. “It is hard to play a visually impaired person. I have to learn to rely on my sense of smell, taste, hearing and touch to play the role well.”

“My Annoying Brother” will premiere in Korea on November 23. The movie will be released internationally starting December 8. Watch the official trailer from CJ Entertainment below:
