tvN drama “Entourage” lost its viewers in Korea and gain less than 1% viewership ratings. However, its content scores a high ranking, according to CPI index .

“Entourage” Episode 6 only scored 0.946 percent in viewership rating according to Korea Daily. Although the number is slightly increased from the lowest point in the episode 5 with 0.749 percent. Both are according to AGB Nielsen Korea.

Although the number of audience in the cable channel TV is relatively lower to four times less than the public television drama, a rating below one percent is highly unexpected. Such is unexpected especially if the drama has broken a record in the number of international television that broadcast the drama.

After its strong start in the premiere week with 2.264 percent ratings, viewers interest to the drama continuously decrease. The male oriented storyline may have been the determining factor that lead to the steep decline of the ratings.

Most of the Korean drama viewers are female audience. Therefore, drama which has a plot and story that attracted female are the ones that will gain a huge ratings. Meanwhile, “Entourage” shows a bond between male and that is unattractive to female audience.

Despite its lower rating, “Entourage” scored a high rating in the Contents Performance Index (CPI) rating according to Yonhap News Agency. CPI is an integrated index which recorded more than just the TV viewerships. CPI calculated the Internet news subscription rankings, direct search rankings, interests and engagement, and also the social media buzz rankings.

Based on its CPI rating last week “Entourage” has hit second place with a 251.9 points just below the SBS drama "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" with a 279.5 points that followed the ending of the drama.

Similar to viewership rating, CPI is also published weekly and focus on the influence of the content to audience interests globally. The rating was developed by AGB Nielsen Korea in co-operation with CJ E&M. There are some cases that TV programs have huge global audience but tumble to gain domestic audience.
