With such a beautiful cast and interesting plot, it's safe to say that "Hwarang: The Beginning" is one of the most highly anticipated series of the year. So for those who have been waiting anxiously for the upcoming KBS drama, why not indulge in the first trailer first?

According to Allkpop, KBShad just recently released a short but stirring trailer for Hwarang: The Beginning and it features Park Seo Joon, Hyungsik (ZE:A), Minho (SHINee), Jo Yoon Woo, V(BTS), Do Ji Han and more as the legendary Hwarangs of Silla. The trailer begins with Park Seo Joon's character as he intently gazes into the camera whilst wielding his sword. Sung Dong Il, who plays the overseer of the Hwarangs, then begins the narration while the trailer presents the Hwarangs in all of their glory.

Aside from the fact that the series features an all star ensemble, the trailer itself has done well to further pique people's interests. Everyone loves a good historical drama and this won't be the first time that the Hwarangs have appeared on a sageuk. The Hwarangs were prominently featured in the phenomenal "Queen Seon Deok". However, this would in fact be the first series to ever focus primarily on the Hwarangs.

Just to give fans a little heads up, Park Seo Joon stars as a legendary warrior who had come from humble beginnings and falls for the bubbly and cheerful Go Ara who in turn, has both commoner and royal roots. The series also features stars that came from popular k-pop groups. Park Hyungsik from the group ZE:A plays a lonely king who becomes a Hwarang and through the process becomes a better leader. Minho of the ever popular group SHINee plays a Casanova and Kim Taehyung, or who most people know as V of BTS, makes his acting debut as the innocent maknae of the group, as reported by iTech Post.

Also part of the main casts is Jo Yoon Woo, who plays a handsome warrior who has to face his inner conflicts and Do Ji Han, the ambitious one of the group.

Hwarang: The Beginning is set to air on December 19 on the KBS network.
