'Descendants of the Sun' makes its European debut in this country

2016's most successful Korean drama "Descendants of the Sun" is now set to air in Greece and thus doing so is also making its debut in a whole different continent, Europe!

With the success of the hit Korean TV series led by actors Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, it's actually not surprising that its reach would go far and wide and way beyond the boundaries of Asia. Now, months after "Descendants" had concluded, it is finally making a debut in Europe. According to Soompi, The Korean Embassy in Greece had made the announcement that Thessaloniki Greek TV-channel TV100 will now start airing "Descendants of the Sun" beginning December 7, 2016.

The series is said to air for 19 weeks which would also include three special episodes featuring behind-the-scenes footage and staff interviews apart from the original 16 episodes of the series. Furthermore, Descendants would air every Wednesday with a primetime slot of 9 pm and would also have reruns during Sundays at 4:30 pm. And while TV100 is a channel from Thessaloniki, Descendants would still air all throughout Greece as well as Cyprus through cable.

This isn't the first time that TV100 has aired a Korean drama because in the past, it has also aired other popular Korean dramas like "Jewel in the Palace" and "I Miss You" and since then has kept a close watch on Korean dramas.

According to Tripped Media, Descendants is also available in 32 other countries while countries like the Philippines, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Vietnam have already aired the show on TV.

Since Descendants of the Sun had become quite the phenomenon in Asia, TV100 is also expecting the drama to perform well in Greece especially since several scenes of the show were filmed in the country.
