There are a lot of rookie groups to watch out for this 2017 but K.A.R.D is definitely the one to watch for if you haven't heard of them yet, it's high time for you to do your research. To help you out, here is a simple introduction to what could be the next big thing in K-pop.

K.A.R.D is the latest group to be offered by DSP Media, the same company that introduced everyone to the likes of KARA, A-JAX, and the first generation groups Sechs Kies and Fin.K.L. What makes the group interesting is that K.A.R.D is a co-ed or a mixed gender group which means that it is composed of both male and female members. Now there have been other co-ed groups before but it in the k-pop industry, they're still quite uncommon.

Last month, Allkpop had reported that the group had finally released their debut track "Oh Na Na," featuring Heo Youngji of the disbanded group, KARA. In just less than a month, the song has already managed to gather about 3 million views on YouTube even without being heavily promoted. It is safe to assume that with their debut single, K.A.R.D has already managed to capture the attention of the people.

According to Koreaboo, K.A.R.D consists of four members representing each letter of their group's name.

BM

Representing the [K]ing card, BM, or Big Matthew, was born in the US state of California and is 24 years old. He first auditioned for the show KPopStar 1 before auditioning for DSP Media. BM was also featured in music videos for KARA and RAINBOW.

J.Seph

Representing the [A]ce card, 24-year old J.Seph has been a trainee for 5 years and like BM, he too has been featured in the music videos of KARA and RAINBOW.

Jeon Somin

The Black Joke[R], Somin was in the running to become one of the members of KARA and was part of the girl group APRIL before she withdrew. She has been a trainee since she was in Grade 9.

Jeon Jiwoo

The Colored Joke[R], Jeon Jiwoo is the youngest member of the group and was part of FNC Entertainment before she transferred to DSP Media.

Hidden Members

Representing the letter D, K.A.R.D will feature hidden members that will be revealed through the group's music videos. While not being really part of the group, these hidden members will help in promotions.

The first hidden member revealed was Heo Youngji, formerly of KARA, in the group's single "Oh Na Na."

Here's to an exciting year for the members of K.A.R.D!
