tvN Broadcasts Special Episode Of ‘Guardian/Goblin’ To Explain The Characters
tvN production team extends the airing of drama “Guardian/Goblin” as they are still busy to wrap up the ending. The 7th week of the drama will only air one episode on Friday Jan. 13, while on Saturday tvN air special episode.
The TV station decided to air obly one episode in the seventh week of the drama to give production team enough time to finish the filming as reported by Seoul Daily News. “Guardian/Goblin” is produced in a live-shooting method, which makes the drama becomes more responsive to the viewers’ response. However, the drawback of the method is the drama must be produced in haste.
Production team admitted the drama is in the turning point of the story according to the report by Insight. They will try the best possible option to end the drama.
"Starting in the Episode 13, the drama reaches the climax of the story,” official from the production team said. “We will try many elements and possibilities to end the drama, including fantasy, romance, tragedy and others.”
According to tvN, the airing of special episode also provides sufficient background for audience to understand the characters and their background. The special episode will reveal the relationship between Kim-Shin the Goblin, his sister Ki-Sun who became the queen with the king Wang-Yeo and his head eunuch Park Joong-Hun.
“Guardian/Goblin” has received a very warm welcome in Korea and international. Airing on the cable channel in Korea, the drama successfully reaches average 12.07 percent in AGB Nielsen Korea and 12.93 percent in TnMS.
Normally, the drama aired on the cable channel relatively four times lower than the terrestrial channel. Therefore, 12 percent in the cable channel is considered a very good ratings.
In the international fandom, there are many viewers of the drama fans flocked into the streaming sites. Most of the female viewers are the fans of Gong-Yoo and Lee Dong-Wook, while male viewers are watching Kim Go-Eun and Yoo In-Ah.
