While the rest of the world is engrossed in the roller-coaster romance of K-drama, Amnesty International Korea concerns about some of the aspects it deemed inappropriate that K-drama represents. Recently, the international organization focusing on humanitarian issues has just released a list of cliché K-drama lines which they believe are unacceptable.

According to Korea Boo, Amnesty International Korea has been actively criticizing violent relationship built up in K-drama. Amnesty International Korea stated that a lot of scenes in K-drama displays male-dominating behaviors such as grabbing a female character's wrist forcefully, kissing without consent, or unnecessary shouts towards female characters.

The humanitarian organization also joined forces with IZE Magazine to create a campaign in order to educate people about violence in relationships displayed by K-dramas, or more importantly, to raise awareness for consent in any relationships. This movement also aims to prevent future K-dramas for including such scenes.

As a part of the campaign, Amnesty International Korea has created hashtags movements, including a list of inappropriate behaviors displayed by male characters in dramas, and misogynistic lines that the organization thinks are overly used in K-dramas. Some of the cliché and violent acts in K-dramas Amnesty International has put into a list including shouting and cursing, forcefully pulling women, abandoning women on streets, announcing relationship without consent, forcefully lifting and carrying women, and much more.

Meanwhile, netizens have been reacting to the recent controversy. Some of them nodded to the campaign proposed by Amnesty International Korea, while the rest thinks that it's an overreaction. Some who disagrees stated that none of those so-called unacceptable behaviors exist in real life, and it's called a drama for a reason, so they need to focus on more critical things like women's rights in particular. The majority also agrees that people shouldn't make a big deal out of it, which is a fiction.
